A Prayer for the Election

In this election season,

grant us your eyes so we see each other’s colors, the colors that define and shape who we are;

grant us your ears so we hear the cries political events have caused;

grant us your mouth so we proclaim your Gospel translated into social and political actions;

grant us your lungs so we breathe in your peace and love;

grant us your hands so we cast out injustice from where it doesn’t belong;

grant us your feet so we walk toward your kin-dom where your righteousness reigns;

grant us your heart so we feel and celebrate the signs of hope dwelling among us. Amen.
