WAKE UP

Last Spring, when we witnessed our Black siblings dying on the street, we wept for the victims and stood up for racial justice. Yet we are not confident to say we have completely rejected the convenient crumps from the white table, aka the "Model Minority Myth."

지난 봄, 흑인들이 거리에서 죽어갈 때 우리는 함께 울었고 함께 싸웠습니다. 그러나 백인들의 식탁에서 떨어지는 부스러기가 주는 안락함을 완전히 거부했다고 당당하게 말할 수 있는 아시안이, 한인이 얼마나 될지는 모르겠습니다.

Now we see Asian women being victimized for no reason. The crumbs turned out to be bullets. The graceful master turned out to be a racist and anti-Asian terrorist.

지난 주 아시안 여성들이 이유없이 살해되었습니다. 음식 부스러기는 사실 머리로 날아드는 총탄이었고, 자애로운 주인은 인종차별주의자이자 동양인 혐오자였습니다.

This week, we will return to the message we shared in May 2020. We are to remind ourselves that racism never lost its power and our cries never end. We desperately long for and march toward God's anti-racist kin-dom and Their justice on earth.

우리는 지난 5월에 함께 나눈 메시지로 돌아갑니다. 인종차별은 끝나지 않았음을, 우리의 슬픔과 고통도 이어지고 있음을 되새길 시간입니다. 하나님의 정의가 이 땅에 이루어지기를 간절히 기다리며 나아갑니다.
